Basic Hair Cutting and Thermal Styling COURSE CODE: 8314 (20S) INTERNSHIP Salon OperationCOURSE CODE: 8322 (40S)Students will have the opportunity to work with clients over the course in the schools salon. Students may complete a one-week, off-site internship. PART 2Intermediate HaircuttingCERTIFICATION and Barbering Techniques LRATC will award certificates to students who successfully complete the HairstylingCOURSE CODE: 8316 (30S) program. Students must maintain a minimum accumulative average of 70% andHair Colouring complete all required hours to be eligible to receive a certificate. Hairstyling is aCOURSE CODE: 8317 (30S)designated trade by Apprenticeship Manitoba and is a Red Seal trade. Intermediate Hairstylingand Artificial Hair APPRENTICESHIP AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES COURSE CODE: 8318 (30S)21The Hairstyling program at LRATC is accredited by Apprenticeship ManitobaChemical Texture Services under the trade of Hairstylist. To become an apprentice students must: COURSE CODE: 8319 (30S) Successfully complete the Hairstyling program at LRATC (1400 hours).PART 3 Maintain an accumulative average of 70% or higher in the trade subjects.Advanced Hairstyling and ColouringObtain a grade of 70% or higher on each component of the practical examCOURSE CODE: 8320 (40S) administered by Apprenticeship Manitoba.Advanced Haircutting and ChemicalHave a completed Grade 12 high school standing or equivalent.Texture ServicesGain employment under the supervision of a Journeyperson HairstylistCOURSE CODE: 8321 (40S)and register as an apprentice. Certificate Preparation Near the completion of a two-year apprenticeship, a theory exam will beCOURSE CODE: 8323 (40S) administered by Apprenticeship Manitoba. Related Salon Services TUITION & FEES COURSE CODE: 8315 (20S) PARTS 1, 2 and 3 - four credits, offered in Sems 1 & 2. PART 1 is a prerequisite for PART 2.APPLICATION FEE: $20 (N/A for high school students)PART 2 is a prerequisite for PART 3.Students must have completed the required hoursTUITION: NO COST (high school students)|$6,300 full program|$2,100 per semester (3 semesters)from PART 1 to be eligible to proceed to PART 2.
